Projected distance

This is the projected distance that the car is expected to travel. It is affected by the projected number of revolutions, and the circumference of the drive wheels.

The projected distance is calculated with the assumption that the spring is rigidly attached to the drive axle. In this case, the spring will stop the car quickly when it has fully unwound, because it begins to wind backward upon the axle. If you attach the spring in a different way so that this does not happen, your actual travel distance will be longer than the projected distance.
